The Blekinge Institute of Technology is a public, state funded Swedish institute of technology in Blekinge that was established at 1989. BTH conducts education and research at a high international level, focusing on IT integrated with other subjects such as engineering, industrial economics, spatial planning, design, and health sciences. The university invests in professionally oriented study programmes of high quality that develop the student as a whole. BTH focuses on the future of the students, and offers courses and study programmes that prepare them to face societal challenges. The university offers 35 educational programmes and 12 Master’s programmes to the students. Both of BTH’s campuses are located by the Baltic sea, which creates a special atmosphere. On campus there are of course lecture halls and libraries, but also restaurants and cafes, student housing, a students’ union, and the unique opportunity to swim in the sea; in other Words – an inspiring study environment. Moreover, the campus is located at the centre of Blue Science Park – a business network within the IT and telecommunications industry. This provides great opportunities for cooperations within both education and research.
