Cambridge University is the second oldest university in the English-speaking world and is ranked among the top five in the world. Cambridge University is a member of the Russell Group, a network of British institutions focused on research. It is also a member of the Coimbra Group, Europe's largest university organisation, as well as the Association of European Research Universities and the International Association of Research Universities. Cambridge University is also considered to be a component of the “Golden Triangle”, a geographic cluster of outstanding research universities.

According to the most recent Research Excellence Framework, Cambridge University fared well. Its services are rated "world-leading" or "internationally outstanding" in 87 percent of cases.
Accommodation is provided individually for each college and is rather varied. Most colleges have residences and flats in Cambridge, but students are housed in dormitories throughout the three-year term of undergraduate study. The Accommodation Service also helps students find private housing.
Cambridge is a major town in Cambridgeshire, approximately 80 kilometers north of London. This city is dominated by university buildings, which have existed for almost 800 years. Because Cambridge is a tiny city, nearly all colleges and departments are located in the heart of the city. While a shuttle service connects the institutions, Cambridge is also known as one of the most bike-friendly towns in the country.
Cambridge is served by four main airports: Stansted, Luton, Heathrow, and Gatwick. The National Express bus service connects these four airports to Cambridge. You may also take the train, which leaves from London and takes approximately an hour.
