Hakkari University was established on the 22nd May 2008.
The mission of Hakkari University, with its natural and cultural riches that can be turned into resources in the existing conditions, is understanding of respect for human beings, the recognition of intellectual freedoms with the acceptance of differences, and the research conducted within the framework of scientificity and originality going beyond quantitative value. 
As an educational institution, our vision is to be a peaceful, creative, research university, in which ideas are free, differences are accepted and tolerated, progressing towards self-realization, individually and socially.
