Osaka University is a public research university located in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. Osaka University is one of Japan's National Seven Universities and is generally considered one of Japan's most prestigious institutions of higher learning.

Suita, Toyonaka, and Minoh are the contemporary university's three campuses. The Suita campus houses faculties of Human Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Engineering. Osaka University also has 21 research institutes, 4 libraries, 2 university hospitals and museum. Moreover, the university offers 59 sports-related and 70 culture-related clubs and societies to the students. 

Osaka University maintains four overseas Centers for Education and Research, in San Francisco, Groningen, Bangkok, and Shanghai.
