University of Mainz

Mainz Johannes Gutenberg University is located in Mainz, the capital of the German state of Renanya-Palatina. It is one of the leading 10 higher education institutions in Germany with a number of 31,700 students in approximately 150 institutes and clinics. The university, which was founded in 1477, is also carried out by 2,800 faculty members and lecturers. Since January 2005, the university has 11 faculties. It was named after Johannes Gutenberg, who brought the contemporary printing house to Europe.
