University of Skovde

The University of Skövde is a state university in Skövde, Sweden that was established in 1977. HIS is a modern and welcoming university, with first-class education and internationally competitive research. The University of Skövde was granted university status in 1983 and is now an academic institution with general and specialised educational programmes in topics like Business, Health, Biomedicine and Computer game design. Research, education, and PhD training at the university are divided on four schools; Bioscience, Business, Health and Education, Engineering Science, and Informatics. The University of Skövde has about a hundred of active agreements with universities in about thirty countries. The university is the Volvo Preferred Research Partner within virtual manufacturing and has ongoing projects with many other world-renowned companies, such as Astra Zeneca and Microsoft. Collaborating with international and local companies through mentorship programmes, advisory boards, guest lectures, degree projects, job fairs, etc. gives the students valuable contacts for the future and prepares them for their future careers. The campus features everything students need: lecture halls, reading rooms, the university library, computer rooms and restaurants. As a student at the University of Skövde it is beneficial to also be a member of the Student Union. By being a member, students get the strength of an entire organisation at their back, to help them with the issues that are important.
