Zurich University is the first public university to be established in Europe after churches and kingship universities. In the years when the university was founded, she did not accept any female students, nor did she allow women to listen in any way. However, in 1847, the first female PhD student started education at the University of Zurich, which allowed women to listen to philosophy lessons. The university, which was added to the veterinary faculty in 1901, moved to its new building, whose architecture was built by Karl Moser in 1914.
