The Georgia Institute of Technology, which was founded in 1885, has aided in the transformation of the southern United States from an agrarian to an industrial economy. The institution now has about 15,000 undergraduate and 13,000 undergraduate students enrolled. Georgia Tech has a comprehensive list of nationally recognized academic programs for science and engineering students, as well as 12 interdisciplinary research institutes and 11 interdisciplinary research centers.
While engineering, business, and computer science are the most popular disciplines of study, all academic programs at Georgia Tech seek to provide you with more than you expect. There are over 500 student clubs and activities to select from, as well as 57 Greek organizations for students to join. President Jimmy Carter and comedian Jeff Foxworthy are also Georgia Tech graduates.
The Georgia Tech campus is located north of downtown Atlanta in the Midtown neighborhood. Despite the fact that the campus is bordered by prominent skyscrapers such as AT&T, The Coca-Cola Company, and Bank of America, it has just four floors of buildings and plenty of grass. Because of this, it has a completely distinct feel than other Atlanta campuses.
West University, East Campus, Main Campus, and Technology Square are the four main components of the campus. Student residential complexes largely occupy the West and East Campuses, while teaching and research buildings primarily occupy the Main Campus.
The Carnegie Foundation for the Teaching classifies Georgia Tech as a university with a high level of research activity. Large companies and government organizations finance most of this research. Undergraduate and graduate students at Georgia Tech are encouraged to work with academics on research projects.
Each semester, the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program provides scholarships to undergraduate students who participate in research. The President's Undergraduate Research Awards, often known as student wages, assist pay for travel or when students present their work at professional gatherings. Undergraduates can also obtain "Research Option" credits on their transcripts by participating in research and writing a thesis.
International students must meet the same standards as domestic students. Given that overseas students make up 20% of the student body, it's easy to see how strong the school's embrace of them is. It should not be forgotten, however, that it is still a selective university. We recommend searching the university's website for the prerequisites of the department you wish to attend for full application information.

Students at Georgia Tech enjoy a number of Institute-sponsored activities on campus as well as a wide range of cultural opportunities in Atlanta's "Heart of Atlanta's Heart," Midtown. Students may select from a half-dozen different restaurants just outside campus in Technology Square. Home Park, a community on the north end of campus, is also a popular place for Tech students and recent graduates to live.
The university's career center is a resource that is extremely beneficial to you in every way. They assist students in preparing for professional life by engaging them in a variety of activities throughout their academic careers. In addition to the activities, students who get internships receive job placement assistance following graduation. Students may readily obtain an idea of their job options before and after graduation thanks to these sorts of services.
