New York Institution is America's biggest independent research university, with 19 faculties, colleges, and departments, including the famous Stern School of Business and Tisch School of the Arts. It was founded in 1831 and is based in New York. NYU is the world's first global network university, with campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai dedicated to liberal arts and research, as well as research facilities and programs in Accra, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Florence, London, Prague, Sydney, and Tel Aviv. Minorities and foreign students account for 56 percent of the overall undergraduate enrollment at the university.

Credit Hours Accumulated

According to their major or program, NYU students are assigned to one of the university's schools or colleges. A student's level is determined by whether they are pursuing a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, or a professional degree (Medical, Dental or Law). Students are not evaluated based on the level of their courses. Tuition fees are paid to students who enroll in classes outside of their own institution.

Admission To School

Admission at NYU is extremely competitive. Out of 67,232 applications, 18,520 students (27%) were admitted for the undergraduate class of 2021. The School of Medicine has a 1.8 percent admittance rate, whereas the School of Business has a 23 percent admission rate, the Faculty of Engineering has a 28 percent admission rate, and the Graduate School has a 29 percent admission rate.

Student Life

On the NYU campus, there are around 450 student groups. Furthermore, because of the campus's central position, students are free to live their lives as they choose.
