Sheffield University, located in the north of England, is one of the world's most prestigious institutions. Sheffield is a member of the Russell Group, an elite university group, and is one of the original “red brick” institutions. According to the QS World University Rankings, it is among the top 100 universities in the world. Three colleges were merged to become the university in 1905.
